This Privacy Policy describes how Knockly ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our Service at https://getknockly.com. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Account information — When you register, we collect your name, email address, business name, and password (stored as a secure hash). You may optionally provide a phone number and business address.
Invoice and client data — We store the invoice data and client information you enter into the Service, including client names, email addresses, invoice amounts, due dates, and payment status. This data is used solely to provide the reminder and invoicing features you have requested.
Payment information — We do not store your credit card details. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We receive and store only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status in order to manage your account.
Usage data — We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, and your IP address. This helps us improve the product and diagnose issues.
Email delivery data — When the Service sends reminder emails on your behalf, we log delivery events (sent, delivered, bounced, complained) returned by our email provider. This helps you track the status of reminders and allows us to handle bounces correctly.
Cookies and local storage — We use browser local storage to remember your theme preference (dark or light mode). We use session cookies for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal data or your clients' data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
When you add a client to Knockly, you become the data controller for that client's personal information. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to store your clients' contact details and to send them payment reminders. We act as a data processor on your behalf for this data.
We do not contact your clients for any purpose other than sending the payment reminder emails you have configured. We do not use your clients' email addresses for our own marketing.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Email delivery logs are retained for 90 days to allow you to review reminder history. After 90 days, logs are automatically purged.
